Ag is a fast, scriptable anagram generator that makes it easy to find interesting anagrams. It also has powerful pattern matching features for fans of crossword puzzles and other word games like Scrabble or Wordle. Ag is free, open-source and cross-platform. NEWS: May 2026: Ag 2.1 has been released. The changes are listed here. April 2026: A simplified version of Ag is now available for the iPad. Install Glui (a free app) and then use its Download button to get Anagrams. Ag's key features: The desktop app runs on Windows (7+), macOS (10.11+) and Linux (GTK 3). A simple command-line version called agc is also included. Supports non-English languages (Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish). New lexicons can be created from text files (non-ASCII must be UTF-8 encoded). Supports numeric lexicons (see Integers.lex and Primes.lex). Ag and agc are both scriptable using Lua.
